Set of Four George III Cast Silver Candlesticks

A set of Four Antique Silver Cast George III Corinthian column Candlesticks of slender form on wide square bases with gadroon borders, engraved to one side with arms of the Earl of Hillsborough. A small stag’s head crest and coronet is engraved to the top of each nozzle and numbered “1” to “4” as are the candlesticks. All made by Robert Albin Cox for Jeffreys and Jones Retailers.
The Coat of arms of the Earl of Hillsborough who served as Secretary of State of staff for the colonies in 1768 to 1772. He bore this title between 1751-89, he then became I st Marquess of Downshire , prior to 1751 he was Viscount Hillsborough
