Antique Silver George IV Tea Pot

This exceptional antique George IV sterling Silver Tea Pot, is of a melon shaped form and made by Royal Goldsmith, Robert Garrard. The upper portion of the incurved panelled teapot is encompassed with an impressive band of engraving. The teapot is fitted with a hallmarked flush hinged cover ornamented with further engraved decoration reflecting that of the body; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the piece. The lid has a wooden finial to complement the C shaped wooden handle. The teapot stands on a spreading foot which is encompassed a plain moulded border reflecting the shape of the teapot. Height to finial 5.52 inches, 14 cm, width of main body 6.75 inches, 17.15 cm, span from handle to spout 10.25 inches ,26.04 cm.
